Photo Birthday Invitations

Start with a digital picture of your child and bring it into your favorite photo editing application. Crop the shot to about 100 by 100 pixels if you are creating a photo birthday invitation for your child's next birthday party.

Locate a solid color cardstock stationery foundation approximately the size of the invitation that will fit your envelope. Pick a color that is complimentary to the text color you will be using on the invitation stationery.

Place a smaller cardstock on top of the foundation to allow for a 1"-2" exposed border from the background foundation and place your photo image on this piece.

Next place a "standout" in matching color of the age number your child will be (works great for single digits) and set the birthday party information in a smaller type style, aligned to a specific edge of the smaller, overlay stationery foundation.

Place your creation into the matching envelope and send to your guests. You can great a special touch using matching return address labels on the outside, even using a smaller cropped photo of your child on the outside too!
